Mexico City's first true speakeasy-entered through a Juárez fonda, behind a secret door in the kitchen. Opened 2016 by Walter Meyenberg, Hanky Panky was CDMX's first proper speakeasy. The entry plays it straight: you arrive at a Oaxacan-style fonda where regulars eat tlayudas; if you have a reservation, staff escorts you through the kitchen to a hidden door. Named after Ada Coleman's Savoy cocktail. Bar manager Gina Barbachano runs programs like 'Twelve Wonders of Mixology,' cocktails built around twelve classic bar tools and techniques. The bar's inventive, research-driven programs helped it reach No. 13 on the World's 50 Best Bars list and win the 2022 Michter's Art of Hospitality Award.
